"We Aim to Preserve the Lives of Those Affected by Skin Cancer, Promote Prevention and Skills in Self-Detection of Skin Cancer."

The community we work for

Many rural communities have difficulties in attracting General Practitioners let alone Skin Cancer doctors or general surgeons. The result is even more long-distance travel, cost and inconvenience to see a skin doctor for a diagnosis, and then another trip back for treatment. Sometimes even from regional centres, referral is made to surgical services on the coast. Our aim at The Skin Cancer Doctor is to bring subspecialised skin cancer doctors on site to small towns throughout rural and remote QLD and NSW, giving local patients access to whole body dermoscopy skin checks, and locally performed (usually same-day) surgical removal of suspicious lesions. On occasion, where required, we utilise a network of dermatologist and plastic surgeon colleagues for further patient care. Our doctors are committed to the towns we visit, and we’ve proven our worth in returning multiple times, which we plan to continue, whilst adding more locations to our network.

  • Who are we

The Skin Cancer Doctor is a network of highly skilled Skin Cancer Physicians who travel to regional, rural and remote locations delivering a start to finish skin cancer diagnostic and treatment service to patients and clients at a high risk of developing skin cancer.

Our goal is to detect skin cancer early, in particular melanoma, which can be life-threatening. Due to our expertise and ability to treat on the spot, we will be able to avoid unnecessary referral to regional and capital city health services.

    Dr Daniel Morgan

    Co-Founder and Director

The Skin Cancer Doctor was expanded to NSW through partnership with Dr Daniel Morgan in 2021. The model of care was readily adapted to communities in the West, Northwest, and Northern Rivers of NSW, with 22 active towns now in regular attendance. Dr Dan originally developed his skin cancer training and skills in rural north Queensland, but being from NSW, relocated back there and after joining The Skin Cancer Doctor, enhanced the program through initiating a range of clinic improvements that strive to create an optimal rural skin cancer service.
Dr. Dan has extensive experience in Skin Cancer Medicine and most enjoys being able to utilise this in communities where the need is greatest. He continues clinical practice in Gladesville, Sydney, in between rural travelling clinics, and also assists with a rural mental health telehealth program.
